Currently the birding pages are only available in English, but the species names are given in their English, Greek (to be added soon) and Latin names.

The purpose of this section of the BirdLife Cyprus website is to provide information of what species can be seen in Cyprus, their status and provide full details of occurrences of those species that are vagrants. There is a section that contains photographs of birds photographed in Cyprus. It is intended that the species information and photographs will in due course be combined together to provide one central information resource on each Cyprus bird species. It is also intended in the future to provide information about the best birding sites in Cyprus. This section also contains the monthly reports of what has been seen in Cyprus and archived previous Bird Reports.

The Cyprus bird list currently stands at 379 species. There are two endemic species, the Cyprus Wheatear Oenanthe cypriaca and the Cyprus Warbler Sylvia melanothorax. In addition there are four endemic subspecies: - Cyprus Scops Owl Otus scops cyprius, Coal Tit Parus ater cypriotes, Short-toed Treecreeper Certhia brachydactyla dorotheae and Jay Garrulus glandarius glaszneri.

The BirdLife Cyprus Birdline - No BirdLine will be operating for the foreseeable future, as sadly, Brian Willis who has been operating the service for the last year, passed away on the 5th August.

The BirdLife Cyprus bird recorder is Colin Richardson
