Larnaca Salt Lake: one 18-Feb , was the only report of this rather elusive winter visitor.

Ones and twos reported Armou-Tsada track, Aglandja, Lakatameia, Marathounta, Sarama, Kato Paphos, Koilinia, Lythrodondas, Kritou Terra, Evretou Dam and Oroklini Marsh. 

Stonechat Saxicola torquatus  

A widespread winter visitor. The common wintering sub-species reported may be one of the eastern forms. Armou-Tsada track: six 8-Feb . Evretou Dam: four 9-Feb . Larnaca Sewage Works: five 10-Feb . Probably the most common winter visitor. Akrotiri area: 10+ on 2-Feb . Aspro Pools: six 6-Feb . Asprokremnos Dam car park: 15 on 6-Feb . Evretou Dam: 10 on 9-Feb . Up to five also reported. 

Coal Tit Parus ater cypriotes  

Ezousa Gorge, Pafos Forest: two 9-Feb . Papoutsa: three 19-Feb . Skarphos Bridge: three 21-Feb . Oroklini: one 12-Feb , was unusual.

Great Tit Parus major aphrodite  

Common and widespread. Pair built nest on the wall near the Forestry Department in Nicosia 16-Feb . 

Magpie Pica pica   

Common. Noteworthy reports: Armou: 12 including one carrying nest material 12-Feb . Pissouri Bay cliffs: 67 on 13-Feb .

Commonly reported.

Common & widespread.

Madari: pair nest-building 26-Feb . Kythrea area: two being mobbed by flock of Hooded Crows 27-Feb .

Phasouri Reed-beds: c.500 on 2-Feb , c50 on 13-Feb , 33 on 16-Feb . Archangelos: six 14-Feb, four 21-Feb ). Akrotiri Peninsula: six 18-Feb .  

House Sparrow Passer domesticus  

Ubiquitous. No exceptional counts. 

Spanish Sparrow Passer hispaniolensis  

Up to 30 together Agia Varvara, Aspro Pools, Sarama, Anarita Park and Oroklini. Marathounta: 40 on 7-Feb . Avdimou Bay: max. c200 on 10-Feb . Pissouri: c300 on 10-Feb . Pera: c40 on 12-Feb . Anarita village: 120 on 17-Feb . Nata valley: 40 on 17-Feb . Skarphos Bridge: 30 birds, plus huge colony in oriental alders, maybe 1000 nests 21-Feb . Mandria: 50 on 23-Feb .

Common winter visitor in mixed finch flocks. Agia Varvara: 20 on 4-Feb . Kritou Terra: 20 on 8-Feb . Stavros tis Potamos valley: c.80 on 9-Feb . Pera: c80 on 12-Feb . Skarphos Bridge: 200 on 21-Feb . Koilinia: c.75 on 26-Feb .

Groups of up to 10 regular and widespread. Kensington cliff top: max. 45 on 7-Feb . Marathounta: 15 on 7-Feb . Stavros tis Potamos valley: 30 on 9-Feb . Avdimou Bay: max. c80 on 10-Feb . Anarita wood: 45 on 12-Feb . Pera: 44 on 12-Feb . Mandria: 60 on 14-Feb . Paphos headland: 20 on 14-Feb . 

Greenfinch Carduelis chloris  

Fairly localised, usually in small groups. Neokhorio: 40 in flock 8-Feb . Stavros tis Potamos valley: 12 on 9-Feb , five 21-Feb ). Paphos headland: six on 14-Feb . Ones and twos also reported. 

Goldfinch Carduelis carduelis  

Very common and active. Marathounta: 20 on 7-Feb . Paphos headland: 25 on 14-Feb . Lymbia dam: 14 on 21-Feb . Stavros tis Psokas valley: 20 on 21-Feb . Groups of up to 10 regular. 

Siskin Carduelis spinus   

Rather scarce and localised. Evretou – Sarama: seven 9-Feb . Upper Armou: one reported 10-Feb . Armou: three reported 12-Feb . Skarphos Bridge: 30 very tame 21-Feb . 

Linnet Carduelis cannabina   

Flocks of up to 10 common and widespread in winter. Agia Varvara: 40 on 4-Feb . Mandria: 30 on 6-Feb . Marathounta: 80 on 7-Feb . Armou-Tsada Track: 30 on 8-Feb . Stavros tis Potamos valley: 30 on 9-Feb , 40 on 21-Feb . Kannaviou Dam: 16 on 14-Feb .

Armou: one reported 12-Feb

Phasouri Reed bed: six 8-Feb , was the only report.

Armou-Tsada track: 20 on 1-Feb , 20 on 8-Feb . Agia Varvara: 10 on 4-Feb . Mandria irrigation Canal: 12 on 6-Feb . Marathounta: 70 on 7-Feb . Sarama: 10 on 9-Feb . Zakaki Marsh: 30 on 11-Feb . Anarita: 30 on 12-Feb . Cape Kiti (Perivolia): 120, some singing on 12-Feb . Skarphos Bridge: 20 some singing 21-Feb . Koilinia: c.13 on 26-Feb . Oroklini Marsh: max. 15 all month .
